Outstanding Nigerian Youth
The Nigerian youth are a very respectable set of youth who will not trade their values for anything. But when an elder tries to abuse this privilege and decides to wash his dirty linen in the public, the youth would then address the issue constructively. Mr. President made a blunder when he made the statement of the lazy youth.
The Nigerian University system churned out at least 12million graduates yearly out of which approximately only 153,000 will get employed. Our University system is so ill manged, ill equipped and ill-prepared to instill in these youth modern entrepreneurial tools/values to enable them become employers of labor. Yet these youth find a way to get themselves busy and instead of the President to secure for them investment from the Commonwealth, he was busy brandishing them as lazy and uneducated.
An average Nigerian youth who run a small business operates on generator and pays all sorts of levy to a government that is so insensitive to his/her plight..
The system is so corrupt and lacks due process, that youth cannot get good employment unless they know someone in Aso Rock or are connected to a Minister or Senator.
The Nigerian youth strive on a daily basis to create an enabling environment for themselves haven't seen the lack of concern from the government.
One would have thought that the President or the Presidency would make a statement to address the Nigerian Youth. But alas, instead of that, they are busy twisting the word usage by the President. Who cares about the literary meaning of "a lot" and what it connote.
Whether the President got his facts right or wrong, he became a bad brand ambassador when he described his major product as lazy.
What an insensitive president.
